Safety First
A Pioneer of CE Marking for Aluminium Structures
- EN 1090 certified since November 2018, we maintain strict quality control at every stage, from design through to manufacturing and installation.
- This certification covers all our aluminium structures, including pontoons and gangways, up to Execution Class EXC3, providing a high level of structural strength and safety for marine infrastructure.
Bureau Veritas-Certified Welders
Our high standards of quality are underpinned by skilled welders certified by Bureau Veritas, an internationally recognized organization for industrial inspection and certification.

Environmental Responsibility:

Decarbonization at the Heart of Our Strategy
- 100% recyclable aluminium: a sustainable material that can be recycled again and again
- Use of recycled composite materials: an alternative to timber
- Waste sorting: timber, cardboard, plastic and aluminium, both on site and on construction sites
- Responsible waste management: partnership with Paprec for recycling and recovery
Renewable Energy Production
When we renovated our workshop roof, we installed solar panels, which now generate 55% of our electricity needs. The remainder comes from renewable electricity suppliers.
Local Partners and Short Supply Chains: Reducing our Carbon Footprint
METALU’s responsible purchasing policy prioritizes local partners and short supply chains:
- 35% of purchases are made in the western France
- 85% of our suppliers are based in France
Other suppliers are selected for their specific solutions, such as our partner Dura Composites.
We are committed to continuing our policy of increasing local sourcing to reduce the carbon footprint of our products, particularly that associated with component transport. This approach also means we can respond more quickly to project requirements.
This commitment also extends to our choice of subcontractors for on-site work, where we prioritize local sourcing.

Every year, we welcome:
- Apprentices and trainees, giving them an insight into the industrial sector and careers in aluminium
- School groups for guided tours, showing the use of sustainable materials in port and leisure marine infrastructure

- A four-day working week in the workshop and a four-and-a-half-day week for office staff, helping to promote a healthy work-life balance
